Day 3: May 18, 2015 New Smyrna Beach to Cocoa Beach, 60 miles

It was another absolutely wonderful Florida day! Sunshine all day and no threat of rain. Karen wasn’t able to go the 2011 ride but today she was able to see first hand where some of our past adventures took place. Last time we rode these roads it was with our Winship friends and quite memorable! We got caught in a terrible thunderstorm and sought shelter at a fish farm outside of Titusville. The woman who was working there took us in, had towels for us to dry off and we swapped stories until the rain slowed down enough to ride again. We stopped by and visited again today. Wonderful memories. Today was a little different than 4 years ago, we stopped at a car dealership seeking shade and a break. We met Cedric who of course tried to sell us a car to go to Key West (LOL) and then we swapped stories until we had to get back on the road. (see photos) It is so much better traveling at this pace and meeting so many nice people rather than just driving by them! Today was one of our longest rides: 60 miles with quite a few bridges to get up over, tomorrow will be a little eaiser with a short jaunt down to Vero Beach. More tomorrow!
